Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AI developers to train and refine models using real-world conservation scenarios and data sets.
- Apply principles of agronomy, soil science, forestry, and agriculture to support the accurate development of AI-powered conservation tools.
- Design, review, and validate training materials and datasets representing best practices in soil and water management, erosion control, and rangeland protection.
- Advise AI teams on conservation plans, land management problems, and sustainable solutions based on field expertise.
- Monitor and assess AI project outputs to ensure alignment with conservation design specifications and environmental standards.
- Develop actionable recommendations for AI-driven conservation strategies such as crop rotation, reforestation, and nutrient management.
- Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through written and verbal channels.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven background as a Conservation Scientist, Resource Conservationist, or a related profession (e.g., Soil Conservationist, Land Reclamation Specialist).
- Demonstrated experience in land, soil, or water resource management and protection.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate environmental science into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with conservation practices such as crop rotation, contour plowing, terracing, and erosion control techniques.
- Experience advising farmers, ranchers, or land managers on sustainable practices.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within cross-functional remote teams, providing expert guidance to AI developers and data scientists.
- Detail-oriented approach to reviewing, curating, and validating scientific datasets and materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AI or machine learning projects in an advisory or training capacity.
- Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Forestry, or a related field.
- Previous involvement in developing or implementing conservation plans alongside technical teams.
