In this expert-level remote position, you will leverage your deep building code knowledge and blueprint-reading proficiency to maintain compliance and uphold industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of architectural and engineering plans to verify building code compliance.
- Interpret, analyze, and comment on blueprints and project documentation for regulatory adherence.
- Advise project teams on code-related challenges and provide actionable recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal building codes, and communicate regulatory changes to stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve compliance issues.
- Deliver clear, concise written and verbal reports on compliance status and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support the continuous improvement of internal code compliance processes and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in building codes and related regulations (local, state, and federal).
- Proficient in detailed plan review and blueprint reading.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Extensive experience working with construction documents and compliance reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while managing multiple assignments.
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as ICC, NFPA, or state-issued licenses.
- Experience in remote code compliance consulting or virtual inspections.
- Background in mentoring or training other professionals in compliance best practices.
